I love those wheels, but I don't think you can get them in 15's. Those would look sweet in gunmetal/magnesium.

Thanks guys!

Finding wheels I liked was tough. Unfortunately JKs have shifted the market heavy to 5 on 5" bolt patterns. I do like the ones I picked out, they look like Hutchison beadlocks without the $500/pc price tag.

Although, if I had the cash, I would scoop up a set in a heartbeat.

I hear ya. I love those Hutchisons but agreed the price is ridiculous! That's why I think I'm just going to go with slots at some point.

Those hutchinson's? 17" beadlocks are on my list, and I like these a lot. But there are other contenders on my list.

I was designing a winch bumper and getting close to something I liked, then I hung out with you guys one too many times, now I need to redesign it for an 8274 instead of my Warn XD9000i. I got a good lead on a rebuild M8274, so while I wait for that to make it's way from MI to CO, I decided to press forward with something else that needed to get done.

Hopefully I can put a few of these components together and make something useful...

Yeah, just re-watched that one.

Makes me concerned about my dual plane intake, but others haven't had similar issues and they make better torque.

Soooo we'll see.

I haven't made a lot a progress lately, but I'll post what I've been up to.

I needed to tackle a small issue with the FAST throttle body and MicroSquirt computer. The computer can handle everything I need for this build except it lacks the ability to drive a stepper motor style GM IAC that is all too common with aftermarket fuel injection. There is an add-on module, but I wanted to keep the system simple. My solution was to use a Ford IAC. The trouble is that I am now sticking a square peg in a round hole, so to speak.

GM Idle Air Control

Ford IAC
Image479 by J W, on Flickr

It took a few nights to hammer out a solution due to the tight spacing requirements between the two rear injectors, but here is the general idea.
Image477 by J W, on Flickr

Here you can see the inflow shown in light blue and the return to manifold in light orange.
Image478 by J W, on Flickr

To create the maze of passages, the adapter had to be three pieces. I found one other build where I guy did it in two, but he was able to offset his IAC. Mine needed to be centered to work.

I would take some low profile V8 motor mounts so my 351w could fit under a stock hood with a 1" body lift.

When could I pick them up ?

Getting ready for Super Celebration, I put aside the fuel injection work and got busy on some items I have been putting off. I needed a permanent tire carrier, rear spring retainers, Cherokee wiper upgrade, some security upgrades and a few misc fix'em items.

For the tire carrier, I needed a low-profile pivot. I decided to build a tapered bushing with an o-ring to seal the joint and keep it pressed tight together so it won't rattle.
