Post Tom's "Show-Chrome Bumpers & Bumperettes Kit" p/n 0910A
Has anyone ordered these or had any issues with fit?

First let me say that the finish of the bumpers and bumperettes are EXCELLENT and the installation of the bumpers in terms of fit and alignment was spot on. My issue came when attempting to mount the bumperettes. The alignment holes of the bumperettes are too high by about a 1/4 inch. The mounting holes in the bumpers appear to be centered as they should be. Since the mounting surfaces of the bumperettes must follow the contours of the bumper there isn’t much in the way of adjustment. But, here’s the interesting part…if I were to flip the bumperettes up-side-down the alignment is perfect. And before you ask, yes, the bumpers were installed correctly (up-side-right) as they have curved ends that taper from wider to narrower, top to bottom. This is perplexing. It almost seems as if the welding jig for the bumperettes was inverted for this production run or something. An easy fix would be to just drill out the mounting holes on the bumperettes however I am concerned about the potential for future rust issues even if I seal them after drilling/before installation. I am currently working with Tom’s to see how they would propose to remedy the situation before any attempt is made to modify the parts. My preference would be that they ship a replacement set with a postage paid return sticker. We'll see. I will update this post with the outcome once a resolution has been reached but would welcome feedback from anyone who ran into similar issues.
