Rear axle seal

Postby landshark » Fri May 10, 2013 7:04 pm

Pulled the rear end out of the bronco tonight to replace the ubolts, plates, centering pin and fix the leak. I pulled the axle shaft out and looks like the seal is ripped/cut off.

I know I will have to pull the bearing and collar off to replace the seal but wanted to know if just turning the seal so the missing part is up and sticking it back in would stop it leaking for the most part? I don't mind ordering new stuff but its kinda a hassle to replace the darn thing as I don't have a press and more $$$$
