Oops! Power steering leak when trying to adjust belt

Postby laffycaffi » Sun May 26, 2013 12:01 pm

I was going to try to tighten my PS belt to reduce the squeal I was getting when turning. So I loosened up the bolt on the left of the reservoir mount to try to tighten.

Then suddenly the PS fluid started to drain. I re-tightened and it continued to drain. Yikes. Did I damage something?

I'm looking for ideas and suggestions. I have no real idea what my next step ought to be. Thanks

Sounds like you have a loose hose maybe? Take a picture of your setup and the bolt you tried to take out.

Could be the pulley shaft seal has given up the ghost.
