Carb size

Postby 71Sport » Fri Nov 21, 2014 4:47 pm

I've always had a holley 350 cfm on my Bronco since I bought it and am thinking of going to holley 500 cfm on my stock 302 good or bad choice?

Should be fine.

I put one on my FIL's 360 FE and it can roach the tires off that truck.

Also used one for racing Limited Late Models in college. 350ci Chebby engine made 425peak HP and was 400HP+ over a 2000 rpm band with that carb. (110 octane and choke delete)
Cummins R2.8 diesel, ZF5, AtlasII, HP44/BB9, ARBs, coiled / linked suspension, 37" KO2s, full cage, bumpers, etc.

That seems to be the size most folks ran on stockers when they did upgrades back in the day.
