C4 woes....

Postby ZOSO » Tue Mar 24, 2015 5:40 pm

Ok just a couple questions. Parking pawl. Is it possible for it to try and engage if the "return spring" is weak or missing. All while making a pretty hard left turn? Im trying to find this random "clicking" noise coming from the drivetrain. It is not the fan hitting the shroud. It's coming from the trans/tcase area.

74 Ranger EFI351w, 4r70w, ARB 5.13 9in, ARB 5.13D44, and a bunch of other goodies. Best of all the family memories.

04 Mustang Cobra, KenneBell 2.2 feeding a lot of boost on E85. Tire shredding machine

New project: 77 Bronco Ranger, body work and more body work.

Very little left of a 72 durango tan explorer sport

X2 I have been hearing the same on Big Blue and like you say its coming from my trans/tcase area.
I know its not my tcase cause it was just rebuilt.

Your spring is there and not broken. Make sure the linkage is adjusted correctly. Still with incorrect adjustment you could only have that problem in reverse. I'd look closely at the CV joint.

I'll pull the rear shaft out. It just started recently and is only when I make a hard left turn. I'll look more into it today after work and see if I can record the sound.
