First off, that flasher unit does say it's polarity sensitive. If the plug is wired backwards, you can just pop the leads out and flip them around.

But since your issues extend to the running and brake lights, I'd venture to guess something got disturbed when the LEDs were installed. When I bought my truck, the right turn signals didn't work and the running lights were dim on that side. Turned out the bulb in the front turn signal wasn't rotated all the way into place and it was partially shorting the circuit. Once it was snapped into place, everything was okay.

I think step "7" would be my goto step in this course of action, possibly add it in between steps 1,(7),2,(7),3,(7)..... etc.

Maybe too many trips to the liquor store, possible a step "7", then "7a - open beer, drink, smash can against head....proceed to next step" banghead

Electrical is a nightmare, I agree, I find patience, or buddies with lots of alcohol, tend to help find a solution, maybe not the right one, but one that will work right now! :laughing2:

I assure you that no beers were harmed in the destruction of my ignition!

Just a little too much elbow grease upside down underneath the dash, a somewhat harmless bump tucking some wiring and flashers up out of the way and *^%#%^*^%#*!!!

Typical

I would probably used about 30 "colorful metaphors" & harmed at least 3 beers on that one!

What's the status on your lights? You find the problem?

Just got these in for my Super Duty yesterday http://www.amazon.com/JDM-ASTAR-Extreme ... ge_o01_s00 now the running lights are white, but turn off and flash orange. icon biggin

New flasher received and installed...same result.
Lt/Rt blinker turn ON...but no blinky blink.

I am going to check the column wiring connections but at this point, I'm kind of dead in the water with time and (wiring) ability.

Passenger side brake light only, so - I need to find the 1 wire where I'm off.
Thanks for checking!

Aztec,
I really have to thank you for reminding me how PO'd (and I'm not talking about Previous Owner!) I was about this "easy little" project!!!

So, what did I learn?

I received my new ignition switch and installed that. I can start my rig again.
I un-taped and pulled the column connection apart and went over the diagram again and All seemed to be in its right spot.

1 of the new rear LED taillights was out. Dead.

I replaced both of the rears with regular old 1157's and by golly, I had brake lights.

Next, I replaced both new LED flashers with the old flashers. I had brake lights, I had blinkers, front & rear.

Then I ran 2 independent wires from the flasher plug and cris-crossed them to the new flasher.
BINGO!

Everything works again, well, almost. I still don't have the right rear quarter and front left fender marker lights?

I did swap the LED lights from Lt to Rt and it's not the bulbs. They worked on the opposite sides.

I'll order one more rear LED taillight and if everything still works from there I'll worry about the side markers later. At least I have brake lights headlights and turn signals so I can drive it again!!!

I'm glad it "mostly" worked out. I have to say the LED's give an awesome look, but sometimes they give you gray hair and a short term drinking problem! In the long run it will be totally worth it!

Just don't do an HID upgrade to your headlights & fog lights at the same time like I did. I believe I made up new cuss words on that one! Probably didn't help I have an LED grill to top it off. Was a definite "WTH" (Can replace "H" with "F" depending on situation. :laughing2: ) was I thinking moment. In the long run I know I'll do my Bronco the same way when I finally get to that point.

Alas I'm still on sheet metal and power train decisions......

This is pre-white LED'S for my turn signals. Also ordered the white mirror lights. In this pic I had 2 lights out on the grill, grounds had come loose & had to re-solder.

It centered on my ineptitude to place the LED blinker in the correct spot. I originally replaced the Hazzard, not the flasher and the Hazzard isn't hooked up. The reverse polarity of the blinker wires was also a biggie, and 2 of the brake light LED's were faulty!
(I bought two and the top twisted off one so I bought two more and the third one was DOA and finally the fourth one I tried finally worked correctly!!!)

Ok, here is my how to guide...

Buy all LED's and Both LED Flashers
Install all lights
Install both flashers
Check Flasher for correct polarity / swap wires X and Y into flasher if needed.
Piece of cake ;)
