Increasing flow from reservoir to Explorer pump.

Pumps mods may help down the road, but I believe it's not going to help now only because the pump is already starving for fluid. Making it pump more will make the problem worse.

Have you took it for a test run yet since raising the res.?

I lowered the reservoir back to where it was so I could close the hood. Not sure what the next step is other than a different reservoir altogether.

I know this is a long shot, and may not even be possible because I have never looked at it, but do you think it would be possible to swap some accessories around? Can you puts your PS pump down low on the drivers side and move other things around? I believe that if you could get the pump directly below the res, you would alleviate your problems.

If this isn't possible, you might be looking at a custom reservoir. You could cut your PSC res and use parts for it, so all you would need is some alum plate and someone who can TIG very well. If you made it shoe-box looking only smaller with a side outlet that was in small sump and

It could be like the one you posted from Circle Track only laying on it's side and move the cap to the top. You might consider sloping the bottom to make the fluid flow towards the sump. The issue with that design is you could starve the pump again in an off camber situation.

I got mine on Friday and found out why they say that it is for the 5.0 and not 5.8. Looks like I have a little fab work in my future to make this work on the 351w. The Problem is that the bracket for the idler pulley has mounting points on the head and on the timing cover and the spacing between the mounting points is different on the 5.0 vs 5.8. Luckily, I know a guy with a water jet! Today, I mocked up a new bracket that looks like it will work. In the morning, I'm going to take it to my Waterjet guy and have him make the new bracket for me. With a little luck, I can get it cut this week and have it up and running next weekend.
