B.C. Broncos efi cable **** update***

Postby valentino » Wed Dec 04, 2013 9:31 pm

I bought this a while back ago and I can't get it to where I have full throttle.I've cut it shorter (the throttle stays open a little) I shorten the return spring (throttle stays open a little) I've taken out the spring (throttle stays open a lot). The way it is now the peddle goes back up but if I press the peddle all the way down it don't go full open throttle.Any suggestions

You need to have a spring in there, although I'm not a big fan of Chuck's kit, it can work. I usually add an additional spring, something like the E-brake or clutch return spring, although not that long. You can pick them up from the Ace Hardware store, in the bunch of bins.

In your case, you need more cable pull in order to get to WOT. Usually, bending the throttle pedal farther away from the firewall will get you that extra bit of throw; however, you may need another cable since you cut yours. Screw both of the adjusters all the way in, then pull the throttle plate so it's all the way open, then bend the throttle pedal and see if you have enough slack.

You need to make sure the throttle closes all the way or it's going to effect the base idle settings and those would need resetting.

I kept having a problem with getting full open throttle so I ordered a jdm Hi throttle pulley from ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/390823250886?_t ... IDX%3AIT.I also orderd a lokar end cable clip for my kick down cable.the one from bc allows no error while the one from lokar has the cable going through the clip and tightened at the end with a barrel.
