79 Steering Wheel

Postby TOOLMAN » Tue Oct 14, 2014 8:34 am

Alright...Can someone tell me why this steering wheel would not fit on a 71 Bronco column (other than the fact that it's off a '79/80-ish).

I love this steering wheel and have had my eye on a few for a bit. They're kind of hard to find.

Ready.................go.

It appears to be aftermarket (Grant maybe?) so there should not be any reason you couldn't get it to fit. You may have to put another adapter kit on your column to make it fit perfectly.

I believe that is the OEM Sport steering wheel which was available late 70s / early 80s.

If it is, and in good condition, they are worth some coin.

I say grab it with the assumption it can be made to fit one way or another or you could easily sell it.

I'm pretty sure it's OEM and a rare option on '79 or '80 Broncos and I also think they were on a lot of '79-'82 Mustangs.

Nah. We're just gonna wait and let you figure out how to make it work first.

Thanks, buddy (note sarcasm). Does that mean you're going to come over and help me figure it out?

The Bronco Fund is openly weeping at the moment. It'll be a long time till your Ebay bids are at risk from me.

I'm excellent at helping. Just refer to the pictures of Eck's engine removal where everyone is looking at the motor and I'm staring into the empty engine bay.

I found the horn setup on eBay but have not bought it yet. They want $90 for it....Are you kidding $90 for a horn button? For now I'll continue the junkyard quest.

Nice! Awesome price. I'm still looking. After my EFI purchases, the wifey put me on a strict budget; thus a kibosh on Bronco purchases in the near future.

If you found one for $6 like this, I bet you could get approval from the wife. I passed on one a while ago because the leather was trashed but it had the horn button....in hindsight, I should have grabbed it.

No doubt! She would definitely allow the $6.
