X2. Use only 6 point sockets in stubborn bolts and nuts. 12 point will round it faster than you can scream an obscenity at it.
For the passenger side I think I used a 1/2" drive 6 point 5/8 socket with a swivel directly attached and a 12" extension on that. You'll likely take the stud with you, if it doesn't snap off. Don't sweat it and just let it come out.
