3 speed clutch linkage clearance

Postby Rockhorse » Mon Apr 13, 2015 9:49 pm

I have a 69 with a 351 and full length headers and a 3 speed. i am having clutch linkage clearance issues. The linkage rubs on the header, and I can't get it into position.
Can I bend the linkage? Or am I sol and have the reason to go all nv 4550 up in here!
I am a long time lurker but This is my virgin post on CCB so be gentle

Welcome! You'll find us deeply enabling. The only possible solution is a better transmission.

What part of the linkage is rubbing?

The fork push rod where it connects to the equalizer bar.

Very common interference spot for long tube headers, especially with a 351. If you can bend the linkage left or right you should have no adjustment problems. If you need to change the fore or aft position then you'll need to adjust the rod length beyond the factory amount.
