 EFI Spark Plug Gap I finished up my EFI conversion and while EFIGuy was tuning my motor, he mentioned I should probably replace the plugs. So, here's the question: Do I gap the new plugs based on the original 302 (.028-.032) because I'm running a mid-70s long block, or to an Explorer 5.0 (.054). My guess would be .054 because I'm running the coil packs. Is this a correct assumption? Just thought I would run it by some more knowledgeable people before I install them. There's quite a big discrepancy there!

Re: EFI Spark Plug Gap Modern ignition = modern sparkplug gap.
Those coil packs are putting out the same energy in your Bronco as they were in the Explorer.

Re: EFI Spark Plug Gap So, for the record, I did .054 and it seems to work just fine. I had a tiny miss and this seemed to cure it. The old plugs were about a year old and looked pretty good, but were gapped at probably .032-.035. Note: I'm using stock Motorcraft coil packs.
