I posted some pics and video on my Facebook page. Check it out https://www.facebook.com/bob.bendt Got the GoPro video to go through to see what I have.
I also blew out a header gasket on the way home. Damn thing sure sounded like a tractor. Rob could even here it over his Bronco no small feat since that thing is ungodly loud.

Oh yeah what a great day. Some mud, some snow, a few amazing rigs, some new friends, and Drews rig performed well on her shakedown cruise. Jeff thanks for the motor (still squeals every time you start it)

We learned that a good set of chains will go a long way towards making up for open difs in the snow, as long as they are on the tires, not in the back. We also learned that no matter how big your tires, some mud holes are still going to stop your truck.

We were barely home when Drew asked when the next trail run is.

Pics in the am, once the battery charges.

Thanks all

Great time today - and its not often that the truck runs better going home from a trail run then it does going to the trail...

BTW the front drive shaft wasn't the culprit making the vibration. I pulled the York off the bracket and the vibration stopped... so some crazy frequencies coming through that bracket!

Thanks for the congrats guys! It's truly an honor to be MOTM for this club and just to be a small part of this great group of people with one similar passion. Shawn-Gregg, thanks for making the special trip out for the Breakfast and buying my coffee.

As for the trip. Once again, it was a blast. We're setting precedence here! Took us a while to find a groove, and a passable trail, (and coffee @ Denny's), but I think everyone found something that challenged them, some even a little too far with broke parts.

Thanks Willem for sharing your cake and celebrating your birthday with us. Can't say as I had anything more tasty on the trail before.

JT - we missed ya buddy! Wished you could have made it. Booger, sorry to hear about the gasket. Drove mine to the exhaust shop one day open headers and that was loud enough!

Sorry I had to pass you guys. That was just the wrong speed for my rig. Either RPM's were high or EGT's.

Drew - I'm with ya...when's the next trip!

The Line Up - we did invite the cop along but as much as he wanted to go along, he felt the need to protect and serve instead.
Image

Massive 47" tall swampers! Very cool rig.

Image
As far as we got in the deep soft snow (and yes, I do mean deep!)
Image
Chris (Landshark) made it nearly as far in his well built full size as did the jeep on 47's. of course where the light jeep floated across the deep stuff, Chris dug in and chewed through!
Image
so Zilla turned the group around and we took another path, found some snow but by far the most fun of the day was the giant mud hole that all the big dogs played in. All needed the help of the cable to make it through. Rob (Zoso) was first to give it a shot!
Image
Image
Then JD (Jesus Man) in one of the best built early bronco's I have seen - that thing is one capable rig gave it a valiant effort, nearly made it too!
Image
ImageImage
Check out the paparazzi in the back ground!!!

Next up was Brian in his Jeep on those monster 47" Swampers. All the money was on him walking right through....
Image
This rig could flex, was on full width serious built axles and yes that is a 47" tall tire!!! how deep is that hole? Image

In the end - he needed the cable too! Just could not get enough traction to crawl out.

So along comes Land Shark. A very strong contender and a full size. There were those who felt the extra wheel base would get er done.
Image
Image

Up the 4' plus tall mud wall he climbs!
Image

Up, up, and.......
Image

That was as close as anyone got to exiting the hole under their own power. Out comes the cable.

Finally Kinder gives it a shot
Image
Image

and about the third attempt a rather ugly noise was heard, a loud "Snap" and Kirk was done. Passenger side axle snapped. So he backed out of the pit.

Image

How tough does this pit look? Well it beat all the rigs we had!
Image
Not much further we hit the 2nd deep snow of the day. Drew and I had dropped the chains just before where the trail was dry. As a result, Drew wins the award for the biggest stuck of the day!
Image

It was not because he did not give it his best shot, that is for certain.
Image

How stuck was he? Well Bob (Booger) had to hook up and run the cable from the trusty warn to work Drew free. Thanks Booger!
Image

So all in all, a great day, good time with a wonderful group. Happy B-day Willem and Congrats to JD this months MOM! Shawn, wish you could have joined us on the trail as well, and thanks for the coffee!

post a link to your entire album (assuming you've uploaded them all)

Thanks for sharing. You got some great shots! We should have gotten a picture of that broken axle shaft.

So I have to retract my comments about giving Ty a hard time about taking on a couple pictures. He actually did a good job. We had to change the batteries, which resets the date/time. So I only picked the photos with the correct date. Then I realized we were missing some pictures, so I went back and found the rest. See the link above for full album.

And for those wondering what the heck we were looking at when we stopped on the highway headed back down:

She crossed the road just a few hundred feet in front of us. Second one I have seen in CO and did not expect to see one so close to civilization!

I'm trying to get my video made. Have never used this program so it's a steep learning curve how it works. I'm gonna have to see how big the video is when I'm done.
