I have been thinking about a custom center console for some time now. I want to fabricate it from wood and trick it out a bit. Being that it would be wooden it will give up a bit of security though. If your interested in being a guinea pig let me know.

Thanks for the offer justin.

I'm kind of in same situation, I'm planning to build a custom console out of sheet metal.

Just need something to use until I actually do it.

The one I have now is engineered really well............the cup holders are integrated into the lid of the console..............so if you need something from the console..........you have to find somewhere to put the cups in order to open the lid.

I've got a free one you can have till you buy one. It's gray and padded. Probably not a permanent solution but will work till you make or buy one.

Sorry Rox- between the holiday and a bathroom remodel, I've been swamped.

Here are a couple pics. No blemishes or anything- just years of dust. It's vinyl so I'd suspect you could hose it down and it would look pretty close to new.

Let me know if you want it. Not sure if I'll be at a breakfast soon but I can give it to Kirk as I need to borrow his hoist soon.

Howdy Eck, thanks for posting the pics and the offer.

I'm nearing the end of my plow installation which leaves me with even more wiring inside the truck. Gonna get off my ass and start building the custom console to deal with it.

Thanks again !

That thing is the definition of re-purposed.

But not necessarily on purpose.

I have the Smittybilt console in mine and it works fine for me. You have to put in a spacer underneath to make it fit (about a 1/2" IIRC). I had a little problem with mine in that the piece where the stereo mounts isn't square with the rest so the stereo would hit the box before going in all the way. I tilted the mounting sleeve and it works fine.

I know Bronco Hut had them on sale for about $100 at one point or you can find them online for around there. I wanted to build one too but decided I could not do it for much less than that.
