Emergency brake assembly

Postby akaFrankCastle » Wed Feb 18, 2015 10:15 am

Last week I managed I rip the emergency brake pedal assembly off the dash. What can I say? Leg day works.

Anyhow, I need a new one. It doesn't need to be pretty. But is does need to be free of stress cracks in the metal.

Lemme know whatcha got!

Damn, I have one at my dad's place. If you can't source one closer , let me know.

I broke mine and used a 79 Cherokee/Wagoneer pedal with very little modification. Bolted right to the firewall.

I have one you can have but, The tab where it bolts to the dash has been welded back on and one of the studs where it bolts to the firewall is broken off. It did work fine when I took it off . The stud is repairable, it's yours if you want it.

Think I'm going to pull mine this week and try to fix it. The thing made it 40 years. Maybe I can get another 40 out of it. If that fails, I'll let ya know.

mine ripped out of the dash as well, welded it back together with a small re-enforcement strip and haven't had any issues since.
