Who is the resident Tranny guru?

Post by hockeydad4-22 »

We are in need of repairs on my sons auto in his 66 mustang.

torque converter - spedo - seems that the flywheel has lost some teeth and while we have everything out we want to get it all done right.

I think it is a C4 but not positive. We will pull it and bring it to you.

also could use a engine hoist and enging stand while we have the trans out.

Probably need it for around 2 weeks depending on how long the repairs take for the trans

We may even want to upgrade from the 200 inline 6, it is tired but funds are limmited.

x2, Viper is your guy. Also, I'd be a little more specific in the header about which sort of tranny guru you're seeking. You might wind up with a referral to a really tall, hairy chick with an Adam's apple.

LOL, I was listening to Jason Ellis one day (kinda a young Howard Stern) and realized "tranny fluid" takes on a whole different meaning to some.

Now, at our shop if someone says "Damn, I just got tranny fluid on me" or something like that, its quickly followed up by a chorus of "eeeeewwww, gross!".

I bet anyone who reads this will never get it out of their mind.

Likely safe on this board but may not want to put that in a CraigsList search.

All the auto transmissions I've run over the last few years were built by Don Calander at the Transmission Clinic in COS. Everything from a C-4 with a full manual/reverse valve body to an AOD with 4R70W gear set, etc... I believe they have a shop in Castle Rock as well.

He's also a Bronco guy, although I don't know if he's on here or not.
