It's sporting a Cat 3012 from the new LMTV trucks that replaced the old duece and 5 tons, sitting on a 10k chassis with all wheel steering. The TRUE Ferd F-Teenthousand.

How cranky does the military get about people "reappropriating" their stuff for projects like this? I've heard lots of stories, but am curious about the realities?

x2. I remember when Jesse James went out there and tried to put a monster engine in a hummer. I know there is lots of that stuff that goes on.

BTW the SD appears to have the stock frame, just the suspension off the military rig.

The shop where this thing was supposedly built is located right next door to the military vehicle scrap yard. Odds are it was pieced together from numerous trucks that were very much no longer road worthy.
