And once you get the whole rig revived, you can maintain it much easier than what you are going thru now, which I am sure you will...

Exactly. Now that it's nice to look at, my neighbors won't ever let me go back to the way it was:)

Why not finish the machine/foam pad polish with their hand glaze? We used to do that on the shelby cobras that I painted. It worked REALLY well!

I'm sure that would make it even brighter:) Truth is by the time I'm done with each panel, I have no desire to put anything else on it. I use Meguire's or 3M compound first with the polisher, then 3-4 coats of pre-wax cleaner to get all the layers of dirt off, then another 2-3 coats of compound, then another coat of pre-wax cleaner, then 1-2 applications of Meguire's #7 (basically an oily polish that doesn't dry), then finally a coat of NuFinish.

I learned after doing the hood and the fenders that it's not so much oxidation, but more layers upon layers of dirt that's baked on for 40+ years. After I get that dirt off, the paint actually looks pretty good before I take the compound to it.

That is amazing and it looks great, love the fact that it was called Carmel Bronze and not tan or khaki.

Nice work Airbur - your Bronco looks great. I am interested how you got your rims so shiny?

Thanks guys. It was a butt-load of work but it's soooo nice to have it all worthwhile. Now that I don't have to paint it anytime soon.....engine:)
