I like the copper. Just make sure you carry some of this with ya:

Sounds about right. I know I've seen that in a cabin or two.

The acid in the vinegar dissolves the outer layer of copper and takes all the contaminates with it.

Zilla - depending on how long you intend to keep it, there is a young dude out here that will be interested in buying one when he gets back to Denver. I think he'll be heading home towards the end of December, not asking you to keep it that long, I'll talk to him and see if he is serious and get back to you.

zillacon wrote:I've been battling this damn radiator issue for the EFI swap. Originally I was going to use the V6 explorer radiator. With the oil cooler it just wasn't feasible and I want to keep the cooler. I called WH this morning and I was going to order the Ron Davis Radiator. I asked them what their honest opinion was on it and hats off to them they told me not to go aluminum as they are having a lot of issues with them and they only last 3-5 years and they recommended going with the factory auto radiator with the crossover tube. So tonight I went to Advanced and picked up a Radiator and with my commercial account discount I got $73 dollars off so it was just a tad over $200 out the door.
Being a refrigeration guy I decided to build my own crossover tube out of thick type M copper and braze it with silfos which can withstand super high pressures and will never break. This also allows me to make it fit to my liking. I just tacked everything in place tonight and will finish it up tomorrow. I will either paint it black when done or polish it out and clear it as a conversation piece. LOL I tried the Super Duty hose and it just didnt fit right. I also got my power steering hose built and installed today.

I did the same thing, Super duty hose dodn't work quite right... So I used some type L copper and 95/5 soldered . I am leaving it raw... and it will tarnish dark soon enough

I used the Super Duty hose and was surprised how well it fit. Not perfect but workable. I ended up using a long spring I found at the JY so the hose doesn't kink.

Great work finding a solution though! Gotta love the ingenuity. beer

Dan, I've got a 16 year old kid who is a family friend and also worked for me this summer and is in the market for a car. He fell in love with my EB this summer and he found one, but it was 2 things, #1 it was waaaaaay outta his price range & #2 it wasn't a DD, more of a trail rig that he couldn't afford to put tires on it. If you don't mind me asking, what would you want for this one? I'd be the one that would end up working on it with him, so I'd teach him the thimble full I know about em. If you don't want to post up here, could you PM me what you are looking to get out of it?

Did you put a longer one on? Even after I modified the pedal, I still felt as tho my throttle was like a light switch, either on or off, no in between. Then I lengthened my bracket and finally got it how I like it.
