Explorer serp bolt identification?

Post by rtreads »

I would like to know if anyone knows what size bolts are used to hold the AC compressor on the explorer serp system? I am in need of diameter and thread pitch. Thanks!!!

I don't know the size but I'm sure they are metric.

Ya I think so too. The problem is that I don't have any metric bolts around here to try...

I found a bolt from my steering wheel pulled kit that fits! I don't know what the hell it is, but it fits. I just need to find shorter ones from the hardware store.

If they don't have a marking like 8.8 on the head of the bolts then they are SAE. Probably 3/8 -16 if coarse thread or 3/8 -24 fine. Doubt if it's 7/16.
