Phil....I swapped in the old temp-sender and the gauge is now right on 190f. I wonder why the new sender showed such a higher temp (220f+)?

Replacing head gasket fun...

Just an update.....been driving it around for a week and it's running great. Much smoother than before.....a bit more power and better mileage. Also, my wardrobe no longer smells like fuel and exhaust. Lastly, no more black soot spitting out the exhaust:)

Well, I was wrong about the black soot...it's actually happening more now. I think I'm getting too much fuel as it's very hard to start after it's warmed up.

One of you guys offered to lend me a carb (2 barrel) to swap in and test with.....is that offer still up?
