Odd ball electrical question

Wish I had a picture to help explain, but I'm 60 miles from my Bronco.

Inside the front driver door post of my Bronco is a do-dad with two wires runnin out of it. This do-dad has a Ford part number on it and is held in place by two screws. Anyone know what I'm talking about and has a clue what this thing does? Or rather what it is supposed to do?

The actual door post or the inner fender? Only thing in that area that I know of is the radio antenna, but that goes through the kick panel / inner fender.

Ya that's on Todd's as well but no wires to it
75' bronco, 302, carb'd for now, i'm gathering parts for efi, 3g alternator, saginaw pump, 4x4x2 box, fw hp44, fw 9", N.P. 435 w/ gearbanger shifter, twin stick'd dana 20, 2" BL, 5.5" wildhorses lift, and 35" km2's

Viper knows exactly what it is. I believe he said it was a temp sensor for something. They are only available on 1 year. If you look at all later broncos they have a grommet plug there.

I do believe the temp thing rings a bell. Maybe saw it in a wiring diagram on day.
