Mustang intake/Hydro Boost HELP

So im in the process of going EFI and I ran into a little road bump this weekend. I have the mustang upper and lower and the upper hangs way off to the drivers side to the point when the astro van hydro boost wont sit in the right spot on the firewall. So my question is is there a issue with flipping the hydro boost 180 putting that gold cylinder on the drivers side? Cant they work upside down? Are the master cylinders able to fit in the hydro boost in any position?

If there is anyone out there that has a stock mustang upper and the astro van hydro boost that has mad his work please let me know.

I don't want to do the angle bracket due to that would cause a problem fitting the master cylinder in with out hitting my shock hoops.

You can flip the hbooster around. The m/c is only going to bolt up stock or 180* off. There is a kit made and sold by a guy on cb.com (vintage ironworks or something similar) that will allow you to turn it 90* or 270* and mount up the m/c.

My Mustang hboost hits on my Explorer intake and wouldn't fit clocking it 90, 180, or 270. So I loosened up the booster & rotated it about 15* and its been fine for over a year.

The hydroboost can be run in any position. Locofomoco racing makes a bracket for 10 bucks that will turn it 90 degrees, too. It'd be fairly easy to fab as well.

Hey Justin, question. Does the fire wall plate just replace the plate that comes on the hydro unit?

Yes. I used it for my swap and it works great. The kit includes a wrench made specifically for the nut that holds the plate on. Not mandatory, but it was handy.

What is the point of using the different plate?

It fits the original firewall reinforcement plate better and allows you to not new holes. I like stuff bolting into factory locations wherever possible, which is why I used it. I suspect it also controls firewall flex better under braking, but that's just a guess.

There is a stock application that used an offset bracket to mount the MC to the Hydroboost. Basically, it was a 1/4" thick steel plate with two bolts facing backward that go through the hydroboost, and two bolts facing forward that the MC bolts to. This was used to rotate the MC that 15 or so degrees when the Hydroboost was rotated for intake clearance.

Take a look in the 'Yard, I have no idea what vehicle I grabbed the bracket off, **maybe** it came of a Chevy C/P30 diesel setup???
