gear install price

Postby HIX » Sun Aug 18, 2013 12:05 pm

It's been a while since I did my own gears and I don't really have the time to diy it anymore. What is a good cost per axle for the install? I was quoted 300 per axle. Last time I did it it took me a couple hours per axle so it seems a bit steep that it would take a pro 3+ hours to do it. 300 hun pretty standard? Anyone have a recommendation for a denver area shop or trusted hack that has fair prices?

There are several guys in the club that know how, but I'll let them speak for themselves. Crawlertech 4x4 is well respected over on CO4x4.org.

Depending on the shop and who you talk to I have seen $600 to $300.. so $300 on the truck seems about right for the low side.. most charge more for setting up gears while the axles are still on the truck...

As Justin suggested maybe a couple of guys would be willing to help you out here

That's a pretty decent price in the truck if you ask me, that's about what I would charge, through a shop you can expect more, most shops charge 6 to as high as 9 depending on locker choice and what differential it's in
