In tank efi fuel pump ?

Postby B.O.B. » Sun Dec 01, 2013 12:06 pm

Has anybody tried to flare the sending unit line inside the tank to create a better seal. It seems that whatever I try to do it won't hold pressure. I don't want to keep tightening clamps because it seems like it keeps cracking the hose after a couple of runs on the pump.
What have you guys done?

What tank, lines, clamps and pump are you using?

I have the BCB tank and run a Walbro 225 pump, using high pressure EFI hose and EFI type clamps. I've never had an issue with this setup not maintaining pressure, except at one point the pump came unbolted and was moving around in the tank.

I have the BCB tank with internal pump. I abandoned the one they provided as the mounting clamp couldn't be tightened enough so it vibrated around on the bottom of the tank, within the clamp.

I now run a Aeromotive 11140 which is nice and quiet.

I use EFI hose and clamps too.

If you have a BCB tank, just get a longer piece of hose so you can run it up further on the pick up tube and put two clamps on it.

Rox did you clamp your pump like Airbur did. Where did you get your clamp for the pump at?

Clamp came with the BC tank as part of their installation kit.

I think all it needed was for me to come out to the garage with a beer, Johnny cash on pandora, and of course a new set of injectors that don't leak. Holding pressure strong at 32 psi when primed. Been there for ten minutes with the key off. Before it would be down to 10 psi by now.
