EFI Spring lock connectors

I got most of the things i need to start running the fuel lines and i noticed that the the fuel pressure regulator sits right on top of the return line connector. how does that work if the fuel comes in and hits all the injectors before getting to the regulator?

Last question for now is how are you EFI guys getting the connector on the return part of the fuel rail with out it hitting the firewall? Right now i can even get the spring lock connector in without fighting the firewall.

The purpose of the fuel pressure regulator is to hold constant fuel pressure in the fuel rail so the injectors always have sufficient supply. Think of a dam with a spillway that let's excess fuel pass by.

I used explorer rails and had to bend one of the fuel rail ends (can't remember which) to make it fit.

The regulator works by letting fuel out of the rail when the pressure is too high.

I used different fuel rails but others have bent the tube slightly and some have massaged the firewall.

i had to bend mine as well right by the firewall to clear the upper intake, firewall and wires coming out of the cab. I used a screw driver in the end and did it really really slowly...
