Have to sell it......

Postby Geologist » Mon Feb 03, 2014 11:53 am

Hey Guys,

Have not been on here lately, been traveling a lot due to work.

I will get to the point, I am selling my Bronco due to some health reasons, and family reasons. I have had migraines everyday, from the time I wake up till the time I go to bed, for nearly 16 months now, and it is just getting worse. I have been to numerous doctors, even had sinus surgery because one doctor said I had a sinus infection and that was the cause. After seeing two chiropractors, physical therapists, Otolaryngologist, and a neurologist, nothing has relieved the pain. There is one thing that does help and that is not sitting down. Moving around I can tolerate the pain more, I have no idea why, but for some reason it helps.

Unfortunately, I have a job the requires me to sit behind a desk all day long. It is a great job that supports my family, but it really is not me. I have always worked with my hands. Since these migraines never go away unless I am up and moving, I have decided to find another job that will allow more time on my feet and provide me some sanity. It sucks coming home to your loved ones feeling like you have been run over by a mac truck.

So, in order to do this, I have to sell the Bronco to pay off some bills and help move....again. It sucks, but I see no way around it. I can always build another, and will!

I threw a quick add on CL today, no pictures and a lame description. The body has no rust, but it is not perfect. Window frame on both sides have broke near the windshield. Everything else has either been replaced or rebuilt. I am curious what price is reasonable. I put $15k because I have seen ones not near as nice between $10-13k.

Dont worry, I have thick skin, so be honest and let me know what you think I should ask.

I will post pictures of everything when I get a chance..

1966 Bronco

- New Fuel lines
- T-19 rebuilt (less than 1,000 miles)
- D20 rebuilt (less than 1,000 miles)

The bad:
Window frames need to be re-welded, but they operate as is.
Waterpump has a small leak.
Center console does not stay shut. Currently using a bungee cord to keep it shut.
I would put a carb spacer on it.

Easily drive 75mph with one hand. I have a warning ticket to prove it. Drives straight. This has been my daily driver. Selling it due to health and family reasons.

Post her on cb.com. I would start out asking 18k and negotiate down from there. I agree 15k is a good deal

I really hope you find solution for the headaches

So sorry to hear this! My wife gets them as well, and she is quite miserable! But I can't imagine that on a daily basis.

I wish there were a way around this for you, but you do have a very nice bronco and I don't think you'll have a hard time selling it.

Thanks guys! I appreciate all your comments. I will give CB a try, and bump up the price so there is more wiggle room. It is so hard to put a price tag on something like this. I drove her this morning, it is going to be tough saying goodbye...

They are advertising a procedure here in GJ that is like what they do to unclog arteries. They use an inflatable balloon and insert it into your sinuses. This permanently moves tissue and relieves allergies. snoring and possibly headaches. Might be worth researching if you haven't already. I hope you find a way to get rid of the headaches.

Thanks ak68! At this point I will look into anything. I never thought I would try acupuncture or dry needling, but I did. I am even eating like a vegan right now, and that is crazy for me. I love my steak, bacon, and wild game!

Green sold last Saturday. So sad to see her go. I believe the new owner will be able to take care of her better than I could though. I took this picture the day before I let her go.

Did it got to a guy down here in the Springs or someone up in your neck of the woods? I gave all the info to my roofer and wondered if he got in touch with you.

I believe it is some guy around here that ended up buying her. Kind of a crazy story.

The guy calls me and asks if he can come by to look at it. I told him after work he could come by. He said he could not make it, and if he could check it out in the parking lot while I am at work. I told him where I park it and the next day he went and looked at it. That night he said he wanted to buy it, without even sitting in her. He then tells me he will be out of town all weekend and that he left the money with is business partner and he will contact me. The very next day, Saturday, the business partner contacts me and said he had the cash and asked if I could drop it off at his house. So, I took one last cruise, dropped her off, and he handed me the cash. The new owner or the partner never even sat in her.....

It is not worth $22,500! He just put lipstick on it to make it look better. I wish I could warn anyone interested in buying this. The back of it has bondo all over it! The seats are crap. The turn signals do not work. I hope he does not rip someone off.

We should all contact him and say, it's only worth about....uhhh... 13k!

And I agree, that seems like a reasonable price. But it is worth whatever anyone is willing to spend... If you don't do your research, then you deserve to get screwed! I know I've done that a time or two. Impulse buys suck!

Same thing happened when I sold my 51 ford F1 pick up.

Guy and his partner came and looked at it but didn't have time to drive her. Offered me a fair price claiming to be developers who liked old cars and trucks. They used that excuse to buy them and park them with signs on their projects from time to time as marketing tools. I told him it was cash only, he showed up at work the next day with cash, two- one gallon zip lock bags worth.

Two days later a friend sends me a link similar to this one, guy has her on eBay asking double what I had her listed at. I had her on eBay before selling locally and through 2 cycles the most interest I ever got was 7.5k. Not nearly enough to sell.

I suppose everyone has got to make a buck but it sure feels slimy the way they go about it, doesn't it?

I will flag this. I was pretty upset last night. It really gets under my skin when people lie and twist the truth to earn a buck. Those pictures sure make it look good. I hope whoever is interested will go see it in person, those pictures hid a lot of body imperfections. When it rains, my feet always got wet. It leaks under the dash somewhere. The window door frames also did not line up with the windshield frame, so water would leak through there too. I would not trust buying anything from this dealer/guy.

With that said, I was thinking about this as I will laying down to go to sleep last night. I realized I sleep very well knowing I was truthful. I know that I sold it for a fair price stating the honest condition of the vehicle. How this guy sleeps at night is beyond me. But he will have his day of judgment.
