Front D44 with 3:50 and discs price questions

Postby vesparex » Sun Mar 02, 2014 11:13 pm

So, I may upgrade my OE 30. Want to stay as simple as poss, ie, same ratio and manufacturer to bolt in. What should I look at for a price?

Limited slip is preferred but open would be OK, I would just install a detroit or something similar.

What the heck, what can I expect to pay for a 9" big bearing? 3:50 LS.

Thanks!

A Bronco D44 is a direct swap. Did I recall you swapped to discs on the front already?

For a rig such as yours, you wouldn't need a full locker (as in replacing the whole gear carrier). You'd be just as well suited with a lunchbox locker like an Aussie or Lock-rite for half the price and you can install yourself easily.

Price - sorry, been out of that market for too long! But I don't think you'll be breaking the bank...

D44 w/disc prices vary by availability, last one I sold complete was $350. It had a open diff & 3.50 gears, keep your eyes open on here, CL and I'd also look at CO4x4.org.

Duane,

I might be your huckleberry on the 9" big bearing, depending on timing.

I have a bug bearing housing with 10-1/2" brakes.

Currently has a spool and 4:88 gears. I'm gonna use the gears and sell the balance.

Hit me up if it's of interest.

Some jerk is selling the rest of what you want. It's even set up for 3.50.
