I've got a set. Not sure what they're worth. I think the last set I sold was $50. I think they've got the coil buckets, caps and all the associated hardware, but I can confirm when I get home tonight. Would be willing to trade, esp if you've got a line on a small electric or natural gas shop heater from your HVAC world. If you're building Lars Bars I want to help.

Possibly. bangtard But I want to have a bend in them like the duffs/BKG arms. No heim either. Johnny joint on the rear. Or I was thinking about copying battlements boxed arm since I dont have a tubing bender. And not sure of one that would bend the 1/4" minimum tubing. Just pondering the thoughts at this time.

I just used a Harbor Freight pipe bender to put a 15 degree bend in a piece of 1.5" 1/4 wall tube, did it no problem. I suspect it'd do the required 7 degree bend easy, but it's not mine so I'm not going to try. You know you want them. Heck, you can use my bigish welder, too.

Only tool I dont have to build them is a plasma. I learned a lot when I built the ones on the 79. They are overkill for sure.

Got you covered there, too. Whatever the plasma won't cut we can torch cut.

Tempting. I've got everything needed to build a set. Anyone need a set of finished Lars bars?

Cool, let's make it happen. I can clean off the fab table and we can do it at my place. Kirk, let's connect beforehand and build a jig. I'll talk to the owner of the pipe bender I've got and see if he's good with us breaking it, I mean using it to bend the tube.

I've used the bender to build 2 sets of similar arms to what you guys are wanting to build. It will do it without a problem. My uncle's arms were easier than mine as he used the tubing extensions. After I screwed and glued those on I put the stock I beam part in the bender and put about an 8° bend in it before plating the entire arm with 1/4". For my own arms I fish cut 2 sets of stock radius arms and welded them together. Once I did that I stuck each in that bender and put a 7° bend in them right where I put them together. That was a little harder as the arms were about an inch wider where I bent them than my uncle's were and I bent them right on the welds but the bender still did it. I am happy to come out and watch/talk crap all day if I'm available when this goes down.

My thoughts are to cut off most of the stock arm and just use the "c" portion. and either weld on round tube or square tube and have the bend in those.

Right on, they're yours. I've been saving them to make a set of Lars Bars to sell, but the liability angle of that makes me a little nervous. I'd like to make sure my kids go to college. I'd been planning to build them identical to the link below, but a touch longer.
