I have one installed. Haven't been "using" it yet.

I love how versitile it is (want to add a diesel engine later? It has a wait-to-start light) Everything is digital controlled and adaptable to your build. Gearing or tire changes only require a quick reprogram of the speedo. Change fuel tanks or run a custom sender? No problem. You can even program non-linear senders.
I also like dual-trip meters, serivce odometer, odometer, 0-60 times. I was able to use a Jeep digital speed sender with my Atlas and interface with the DD gauge. The user programable warnings are nice too.
Despite its cost, it is cheaper than a comparable set of Autometer gauges. And you still don't get turnsignals, check engine, high beam, etc indicators.
Cummins R2.8 diesel, ZF5, AtlasII, HP44/BB9, ARBs, coiled / linked suspension, 37" KO2s, full cage, bumpers, etc.

Can you turn the brightness down? I rather enjoy having to squint at night to see whether or not I have enough fuel to make it home.

Yes. It has a day and night brightness settings that are both programmable from OFF-to-FULL brightness
