Thanks for adding the info. I couldn't figure that out with the decoder I found.

The Broncohio site says the 767689 indicates the October 65 build date.

I'm not a pro, I only play one in the woods... I'd say any mod that improves the safety AND allows a non-bronco person to enjoy driving a bronco will only increase the sale price and market size.

The common advise is to put the originals aside, but that only matters for the hard core collectors.

Like I just asked another here:

Drive it?

Or trailer it to shows?

Which looks like more fun to you?

You are both correct. I wish I hadn't sold my stock p/s box a few months ago. Who knew.

Is there a disk brake conversion for the D30? All I know is the D44 conversions.

I agree with kirk. I'd put in power disc brakes and power steering, but would keep the original parts for inclusion in a future sale. I'd also try to use as many factory parts as possible - EB power steering box, EB pump and brackets, etc to maintain as much original appearance as possible.

Yes, I wouldn't do anything that couldn't be undone. I know my old vacuum booster required some adjustment to the driver's inner fender. But I think there are other options now. Don't know about a P/S pump, bracket, pulleys for the 170 so I'll have to look into that too.

The Chebby disc brake conversion will work on both D30 and D44 from what I understand.

Or start hunting junkyards...the spindles are getting harder to find. I pulled most of my stuff from the junkyard. Remember to pull the calipers as well so you can use them as cores.

Now I am just bragging. stirpot

It was a package deal with a 69. This one is for sale. I'm talking to one member already. I'll post it up with details if we don't work something out.

Wow. If that were an original black paint truck, I'd be jumping in there on the bidding war. Great looking truck though!

P code, Medium Green Metallic according to the Broncohio decoder. It was repainted a dark blue green metallic. Its not obvious from the pictures.

I stumbled on 2 of the nicest survivors out there. A friend of the bodyshop was chatting with some guy at the hardware store who mentioned he had 2 Broncos he should get rid of. Its been about 3 weeks since I saw them first. Originally thought I'd flip both, but Molly & I really like the 66 and think it deserves a resto. It might take a couple years to get to it, but I'll regret selling it. I'll never find another like it.

The 69 is a prime LUBR or resto-mod candidate.
