Justin, I like how you upgraded GF to "hot". I'm pretty sure SO's don't allow that upgrade.

I had the exact same thought. It's like hiring a nanny- not a hot nanny.

uuummmm, nobody said this fictitious girlfriend was going to be Hot. Its just someone else to say "yea, that sounds great!" when you want to talk gear ratios and doublers at the dinner table.

Justin, your situation is different, your wife bought you yours as a gift, she just wanted you out of her hair.

I am sure we have all seen those eyes glaze over.... This must be what it's like for them when they ask our opinion about which color to paint the guest bathroom. Like I care.

My wife likes to tell me about our kids closets after she reorganizes them. I usually look at her and say "you realize I'm humoring you, right?" This is probably why she won't let me have a hot girlfriend. Either that or it's the ever-evolving oil stains in the back of her minivan from hauling greasy truck parts.

Wow! I was gone for a couple weeks and things went nuts in this thread!

Welcome to the team Colby, welcome to the team.

Ha ha thanks for the warm welcome! I do seem to already be experiencing some scope creep on my original goal for my Bronco and from time to time I find myself browsing for ones for sale shrug I don't know if another GF would be cheaper, but probably less time consuming. Although mine likes when I'm away working on the Bronco because she gets some peace and quiet that way!

There you go - just buy the current GF one for Christmas

Yeah - that will work, as long as there is some jewelry in the glove box....

Now that sounds entirely too high maintenance to me.

A Bronco for her for Christmas would be the fastest way for me to become single again. Plus then I'd have 3 girlfriends needing my money, time and attention... crazy

Your math is off - it is going to make you single again - you only have 2 mistresses demanding time and money. icon biggin

Well girlfriends and new mistresses (Broncos) aside. I'm finally going to do a compression test tomorrow and plug up the vacuum lines to see what's up with my 170. Then at least I'll know and I can plan to empty my wallet accordingly :burnout:

Well plugging the vacuum lines did help, but it's still sluggish up hills. Here are the results of a compression test:

1 - 92 PSI
2 - 91 PSI
3 - 91 PSI
4 - 91 PSI
5 - 75 PSI :(
6 - 90 PSI

So I suppose one cylinder with low compression is probably not helping. I also need to check timing and the jetting on the carb.

Those numbers look low, although I'll admit not knowing what factory specs were for this altitude. My 302 came in at 110 across all the cylinders give or take a few psi.

They could be low. I honestly don't know. It probably needs a rebuild.

Yep, doing some quick research, that is awfully low so I think it's time for a rebuild. Anyone have any recommendations for someone who can do it for a reasonable price?
