Tell me the procedure for heater installation

Postby Unaweep » Mon Sep 21, 2015 8:18 pm

Removed, rebuilt the heater box.

Royal pain to reinstall, mainly because the control cables...are short.

Give me the proper procedure and save me some time.

I never found one. Swearing helps.

Actually, you could probably put the cables on, then tighten down the screws on the box. Probably give you a little wiggle room.

Did you pull the glove box out? It gives you better access and is easy to remove.

Just what Justin and Kinder said. Lots of cussing and getting mad.

BTW did you do the blower motor/cage upgrade? It's a must do!

I've pulled mine in and out a few times and it is possible to loop the control lines on before you bolt it to the firewall. I usually put the heater outlets through the firewall lean the box down then reach behind the box like a contortionist and put the ends on. I know there is at least one holder that you screw in and you can get to it but it's a blind loosen/tighten. If that makes sense.

Thanks for all the help. The heater is installed. Cost $74 down at my mechanics shop. I'm at a point in life where time is money and I didn't have the time to mess with it.

It was well worth $74, and the shop also took care of a few other minor things too.

I think I'm going to have them install a new wiring harness soon.
