Harmonic Balancer

Post by Justin »

Just double checking: This is the correct Damper Dudes balancer for running Explorer serp on a 302 or 351w, correct? http://www.damperdudes.net//product_inf ... cts_id=224

Alternately, anyone know of a place in the metro area that could competently rebalance the Explorer balancer that i've already got? Damper Dudes is proud of that thing.

MPG told me they would rebalance mine from 50 to 28 if I brought in a 28 they could go off of. You may check with them.

I'll give Scott a call, thanks. I need to talk to him about costs to go through my block anyway.

Any decent machine shop can do it. I have had 3 done. Ideally, you would give them your crank and fly wheel / flex plate and they can balance it to the parts your going to use.

Depending on what needs done to the engine once tore down, you should wait to have the harmonic done. He rebalanced my crank to work with a 50oz harmonic.

Thanks, I'll talk to Scott about the best way to go. I may need to have my heads milled down as well, so I'll likely take everything to him at once.
