I'll just transplant the engine from my car. icon biggin

Im just shooting for an honest 350-400hp that is reliable. No stroker or anything. Just a 030 over 351 pump gas.

Here are the flow specs I have found.

lift GT40 e-street afr195

100 54/46 65/42 ------

200 118/93 121/92 152/126

300 158/115 174/130 206/171

400 183/123 216/150 260/207

500 185/126 242/162 287/222

600 ----- 249/168 308/231

Another thing I have found is all GT40 lowers including the lightning don't flow all that well. But If ported can flow ~230-250cfm per port. A stock GT40 upper can handle that flow stock. A 75mm throttle body will flow ~980cfm. From weeks of reading a ported gt40 lower will produce the same power numbers as some of the aftermarket intakes. If you want a bunch of reading google tmoss porting.

The AFR 185's flow the same as the 195's up to 500 lift. Im not running a cam over 500 lift so I should be fine with the 185's. Plus they are a better design and have better parts in them.

It helped. It's a sleeve. Along with the carb spacer and rerouting the fuel lines.

I have started the mockup of the hydroboost and bracket. I plan to make the brake lines and get everything ready then remove it all until the engine is back in. With this offset bracket it sure is long.

Also started the tear down of the engine. I think I got pretty lucky. Doesnt look like the piston is hurt. there is a mark on it from the valve but doesnt looked cracked. So i'll clean the carbon off and slap on some new heads.

I couldn't help but mock some things up. Will be sand blasting the brackets to give a nice finish. Will Paint the upper also.

Was very surprised today. I pulled the interior and carpet. I found a lot less rust than I expected. Looks like a small patch is required at the seat bolt holes on the passenger side. and maybe a full drivers pan since it's been patched once.

We've had to replace the plastic retainer ring once. I have another one around here just incase. It still works good too.

Spent the day in the garage. Got the 1" body lift installed. Also built new brake lines from the master to distribution block. don't like how one turned out so I'll be redoing that one. Started moving the arb compressor over to the drivers side inner fender.

I need to hit a junk yard for an ecu box so I can get that cut in while the engine is out.

Trans kit should be here soon so I can start on that.

Yup. OG ARB compressor. It was mounted to the passenger side. I needed to move it to have room for the intake/maf/air filter.

Yulp! I even have my 8 rib pulley setup for Explorer dress. Just need to figure out the crank pulley. But I think there is enough metal left that 2 extra grooves can be cut with a lathe.

Still gathering parts. I ordered the new reverse drum and mechanical diode and sure cure kit for the 4r70w. Also ordered the 98 n up case connector. Once those arrive I can finally make some progress and get this trans rebuilt.
