Re: Rear Driveshaft Question

Well, Trial and ERROR I guess....

This will obviously not work because it sags with no support on the rear CV joint. I'm going to order a 9 inch rear slip yoke as opposed to the 7 inch stock one. I'm a little disappointed and the pictures speak for themselves...

Proof is in the puddin' sorry it didn't work. But looking at it now that result seems obvious.
1973 Bronco, 351 SEFI, Locked, discs, 35's ZF-5spd and Atlas 4spd. 235:1 Crawl Ratio. It may be ugly, but it's slow.

Not to be a dick about it but just get the damn thing retubed already. All the time spent dealing with these "presidential solutions" could be smiles going down the road in a driving bronco.

With that being said just putting on a new longer slip yoke may not work. They are not all universal with orientation of the splines. So the phase may be off and you will get a serious vibration.(ask me how I know)

Alright ZOSO... Found a guy in FLA who bought a lifted '74 from Texas that he is taking back to stock and he offered me his rear extended driveshaft... For FREE:):):)
I did pay for him to ship it out here, $47 bucks. Not bad eh!?

I hate to be a Debbie downer but in that first pic it looks kind of wonky

Does it drive smoothly or vibrate like a banshee ?

Ask Viperwolf about his recent driveshaft experience

If you hear the rear u-joint grumbling don't expect to finish a 12 mile trip through rush hour traffic in Sacramento. Especially if you just removed all the tools from the Bronco. The good news is now I have a driveshaft trophy and a beat up muffler.

Nope, we're cool. 1st pic is CV joint attached and slip yoke on the ground off to one side. Picture does look goofy.
Just drove at least 65 on Hwy 85 - no vibration at all.

....this look any better?
