gear banger/ZF shifter

I was curious if anyone has tried to modify a gear banger shifter to a ZF 5speed. On the NP 435 it acts a bit like a short through shifter. Wondering if it would have the same affect on the ZF.

I think someone makes a short throw zf shifter assembly. Don't remember the price but thinking it was a bit pricy.
