Broken window

Post by casadejohnson »

So, most everyone at the Platte River grill Saturday listened as my drivers door glass shattered upon closing the door. As it turns out, the rear window track which is only a few months old failed allowing the window to swing freely in the door. I believe it hit the rod for the door latch and now it sits in the bottom of my door in thousands of tiny pieces. I thought I had an extra door glass in the hoard of parts but my garage search tells me I don't. I believe Chris said he had a spare as well as a few other folks. If any of you have had a chance to check your parts piles and have found door glass that you can part with let me know. The broken window was a drivers side but I can make a passenger side window work by flipping the track around. Any help is appreciated

It's new but had to be modified slightly for removable window frames. Apparently nobody makes tracks for them. It looks like the rivets failed but it's hard to tell for sure as my only vantage point is looking down through the top of the door where my glass used to be. I'll know more one I get it pulled apart. With a little luck, it can be welded back together

If I recall I got it from Tom's. Not sure who makes it as it came without any manufacture info.

I'm getting sick and tired of vendors going through lengths to mask the names of manufacturers they buy from. WH decided it was necessary to cut the company name off my core support box. Then they avoided answering my question publicly on Facebook, choosing to PM me instead and cite "protecting the deals we get for you." They should have opened the box and pulled off the sticker the company, based in Taiwan, put on the piece.
