C4 valve bodies- some subtle differences

Post by akaFrankCastle »

So, I have a few spare C4s I have been hoarding. Today I pulled out a couple of valve bodies to clean up and put back together. For the most part, there are no differences between the two. But on closer inspection I do see some subtle differences. I assume one of them has a modified valve body plate. I just don't know which.

The first one is a stock plate for '73-'75. The 2nd one is a stock plate for '76-'77. If you look at the lower right quadrant you can see the punchout identifiers on the edge of the plate. '70-'71 and '72 also had different plates.
