It was. Some dude from Colorado, who by all appearances only owns a Camaro, was talking about how "some people shouldn't be allowed to own a welder."

Of course he decided to be a chicken crap and delete his post once it came out that Kirk is in Colorado and it's a work in progress.

Finally getting to my axle upgrade, seriously needed as I have broken enough axles and u-joints and also crushed enough pinion parts to know my 1/2 ton axles won't last beyond street driving.

Starting with the rear D60 since it'll be a little easier, cutting off the factory spring perches and moving RuffStuff replacements inboard, upgrades will be an ARB and torque tamer.

Yep, 99+ E350, nice axle with factory disc brakes and cable actuated e-brake. This one is setup with LS and 410s, shame I'm dropping the ARB and 350s into it for my diesel.

Mocking up the new spring perches, might get it under BSD by the end of the weekend. I still need to decide if I'm leaving the flange on it, right now I'd like to keep it.

I did not know they were using 60 rears that late. I thought it was Sterling axles across the board, save for a few Dana 80s.

So does that make it a standard or metric bolt pattern?

The E vans were standard 8 on 6.5 until 2006 or so. I picked up some wheels for my truck for super cheap cause everyone thought they were metric off a '99 E350.

I do, some E rated 37s on 17" rims that Bobby helped me with. I need to pull them out from under the tarp and take a pic. It's also time to prep the rear openings and fit the rear WCB fiberglass pre-runner fenders.

I'll add that not all the D60s under the E350s are full float, some are semi, so if anyone is looking for one make sure you know the difference before you pull it.

Installed after a week wait to source the right U bolts, who knew the E350s used Superduty spec'd axles. I'll get the rear fenders opened up and mount the matching fiberglass. I'll be in fwd for a week until the driveshaft is modded.

37x12.5x18 I wanted a E load rating so I bumped up to 18" rims.

Pulled out the KP60 front to start prepping it, it's from a farm truck so a full rebuild is necessary.

Mocked up the Wrap Trap today, I'll need to move some electrical and plumbing before installing it, but the ridges around the ABS sensor are going to be perfect for mounting the diff end.

I have some concerns of that wrap trap making your truck ride rough. As your suspension compresses the axle moves backward slightly, but with that trap all tightened up, you are hindering that movement. Perhaps there is something there I am not seeing and knowing you, there is, but I've seen a lot of folks run similar designed ladder bars and complain of rough riding.

I have the same wrap trap - I havenΓÇÖt noticed any ride issues as its not a solid piece technically, there is a bushing on one end that absorbs shock and vibration. Matter of fact it saved me in moab when i lost one of my centering pins on my rear leafs early on Poison Spider - i wheeled most of the day with just one pin and that wrap trap.

I am a fan especially with the torque my engine makes as I would have lost my driveshaft and probably leafs quite a while ago without it. Not to say there isnΓÇÖt anything better - it seems to work for me :)
