Radiator options

5.0 explorer swap. I know some have used the original bronco radiator but, what are some of your experiences with other radiators? including an explorer rad?

The best radiator I ever had in a Bronco. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sgt- ... del/ranger

Also the cheapest. Now I have one in both.

So, that has 1 1/2 " pipes on it. what did you find for hoses? And, what kind of temps were you seeing on a hot day?

Upper hose is fox mustang. Bottom hose is custom due to angle of radiator outlet. I had to use the ends of 2 different hoses to make it fit well without causing an obstruction. I'll have to look up the numbers I used. I believe Rox used the same.

In CA during 95 degree days the temp was at thermostat (195) +/- a couple degrees. My gauge has 1 degree resolution.

It does require a little fabrication to get new lower radiator mounts in. I used some from a ranger and some from a taurus. I believe the ones Rox used were upper explorer mounts.

I have the part number tags on my tool box and will post them up shortly

I believe this radiator is the cat's meow. I don't have a shroud on mine and it has gotten up to 199 but tomorrow will be first warm day so I will give it another test.

The mounting tabs I used were found on the ground at the pull n pay place so I don't have part number / application information.

Most late model ford cars and trucks use various styles of this mount. It has a hole and a rubber grommet in it and a tab on the bottom of the radiator drops down through the hole.

that lazy large mouth bass..........

for lower hose position I used one of these in combination with the end off of another spare hose I had laying around. This of course means you need a coupler from the help isle.

Here is what I used for the upper, it fits perfectly without modification

I was just looking at the pic of this hose and it doesn't look right, maybe they just have the wrong pic on the website. I know this is one of the hoses I used for the lower.

When it gets light out I can snap a photo of my lower to show what's what.

Thanks fellas, I got it all dialed in now (I think)
Phil, one other item I am looking for is the mounting bracket for the PS reservoir like yours. I have the reservoir but, not the bracket.
I can make one but, I'm all about easy!

It's the stock bracket for that reservoir. L-shaped with slots for the rubber grommets.

I think mine was off a mid 90s diesel excursion. Cost me about $45 with the bracket off fleabay, but took a little searching to find one.
