Suggestions on Bronco lift
My 77 needs to get new leaf springs and with some minor work. Any suggestions for how much it should be lifted since I read somewhere about 2.5 inches. The rear end is almost touching the tires so it needs to be done soon.
Thanks!
Thanks!

really depends on how much tire/ look you want. Gianacrider's Luber is the perfect stance in my opinion. Whatever you do end up doing make sure to get a quality shock, for ride quality

Thanks for the suggestion, Dirtheadz. Any input on quality shocks for a quality ride since I do not plan to go off-road like some of the CCB members..

just my $.02, the ride quality of bilsteins is awesome, but equally important is quality springs. you dont want to drive a buckboard just to have 2-1/2 of lift. Sh!ty, cheap lifts makes the Bronco driving experience suck having a 92 inch wheelbase!

Yes - what he said ^^^ especially considering the spacing of the joints in all the concrete roadways these days...

I'm looking to probably go with something like this when I refresh mine: http://www.wildhorses4x4.com/product/Pr ... System_2in
I have the Billstien 5100 series on my Tacoma and love the ride, better than stock.

I like your suggestions, but I don't plan to do the off road riding...just a nice ride.

For a well-engineered kit, those two things are not mutually-exclusive. Unfortunately the aftermarket and "common wisdom" have taught us otherwise.
I'll 2nd (or 3rd or 4th) that a tuned Bilstein shock is a great way to go and proper spring tuning goes hand-in-hand with shock selection to contribute to good ride quality.
I prefer using lots of rubber bushings where possible vs urethane or rod ends, to reduce NVH and improve ride quality.
Cummins R2.8 diesel, ZF5, AtlasII, HP44/BB9, ARBs, coiled / linked suspension, 37" KO2s, full cage, bumpers, etc.

The consensus, and I concur, is that 11 leaf packs seem to ride best. I got mine from Tom's Broncos parts and IIRC they are made by Deaver.
1973 Bronco, 351 SEFI, Locked, discs, 35's ZF-5spd and Atlas 4spd. 235:1 Crawl Ratio. It may be ugly, but it's slow.
