Great story.

We have been married 25 years, my wife knows that as long as I can remember I have wanted an EB. But she always has had a different, more responsible place to put those funds. So I have been prepping our sons for years and years, guideing them in this dirrection. And here we are. Now my wife hops into Andrew's "My Little Pony" (I seriously hope he changes that name) to run down to Bed Bath and Beyond for some new coffee mugs instead of her Land Rover, gets on this site and others with Andrew and talks about paint colors (she wants orange), and in general really likes it. I am looking forward to this summer to see her driving with the top off (the truck's top, not her's).

Then when Andrew moves out, and takes his rig with him, I might be allowed to build one of my own.... at last.

If it's the same one I see every so often, he usually flashes his lights and waves. But I have no idea who it is.

Hey Billie please do send some cards my way, I have been seeing a ton of them lately. cant figure out why that is.

Anybody suppose people are getting rid of their newer more expensive cars and digging out "Gpa's old truck" from the garage in a way to save money?

Seen it happen a time or two before?

just a lot of Broncos lately.

That is a great guess for all the Bronco sightings. I am thinking about turning in my commuter car when the lease is up and driving the EB fulltime to save money. To make things stranger, there are a lot of Broncos for sale right now too.

I think that you might be on to something regarding the down sizing in households. That was part of the reasoning when I sold my other car. It was a bit unnerving at first, knowing I would be commuting daily in a 40+ year old "SUV" I just kept telling myself, "Hell, my parents drove me around in one of these, I ll be fine." Turns out its better than fine...it cost nearly nothing to drive, I can fix it myself, full coverage insurance is less than 100.00/month, you can get parts anywhere, it pisses off Hybrid drivers....the list is endless.

If you would PM me so I remember to mail your cards in the morning. Work has been a bit of a $hit show lately and I don't want to forget.

Do it! You wont be sorry.

The people that are selling I assume need the $ and instead of thinking our way (getting rid of a car payment) and driving a easily maintainable vehicle, they are parting with a piece of American heritage, the likes of which will never roll off the assembly line again.

Sad actually

Parting with AND parting out, in some cases. I've seen a lot of Broncos out there that are not without hope being chopped up by the unknowing or uncaring.

Well put...a bigger shame to be certain. The guy who sold me mine made it clear that I was not to turn mine into a crawler. "its all here." he said..."it deserves to be on the road."

It actually was kind of an awkward moment, he actually made me promise and shake his hand.

I had that exact same conversation just a few weeks ago when I shook hands on the '72. The thing that sealed the deal was when I mentioned how much I hate the idea of Broncos being parted out.

Good story, I'm sure that Bronco you saw will someday be a member here!
