New addition to the stable

Post by kchaser »

Not another bronco but it's related! Just picked it up. Drove half way to the North Pole to get it but finally made it to its new home in the shop. Plans are full drag suspension and a 800-900hp nitrous breathing 10sec wheel standing money pit! Image

Screw the nitrous. Go turboed BBF.

Building a 8-900hp nitrous motor is gonna be about the same price as a turboed BBF. Plus you wont have to worry about always filling the n20 bottles. either way it not gonna be cheap for any of it.

I will have to disagree with that one but anyway. I know nitrous and the Hondas can keep the turbos. It's kinda like a ford Chevy battle. Nitrous and turbo guys get into similar "discussions" over beers.

I would buy old fox body Highway Patrol Mustang for drag car and keep that car cherry. It's a Beautiful car and make a great car to keep as-is and pass down to your kids. It could just be the inner Barrett-Jackson talking but that looks like a prize too nice to modify. Congrats on the new purchase.

I am hoping to have something to run next spring. Its going to be a long build. Getting a 3200lb car into the 10s will take some work. Engine will be a 408 stroker (unless I fall into a BB) be it NOS, Blower or turbos is only about 25%. Cage updates Rearend 4 link or similar, front drag shocks, Trans with brake, electronics to retard timing solenoid shifter and I am building a touchscreen PLC to control two stages of the NOS hits. It will be fun and my kids are excited to help so everyone will be involved. Plus my wife put me on some life insurance policy last year and because I use to race ASA late model roundy rounds I am consider "high risk" so per the policy I cant race anything for 2 yrs. crazy

Quick update. Pulled the engine apart and tossed everything I have at a new one. 408, forged, trick flow R heads, Fox Lake stage 3 porting, fancy ground NOS crank (yes still going Nitrous...) FPA headers and on and on. Now its on hold, my wife took my credit card away.

Bronco just got booted out of the shop. Picked up my wife street/strip car. 93 supercharged aluminum headed FOX. Man I hate EFI but I couldn't pass it up. (the oil on the cardboard under the car is from my buddies 71 Nova, not from one of my Fords....

It better not be close to 10's. I got 10x what I paid for this in my 70 and that ain't in the 10's yet. I have no clue what we are doing this summer but it will be a lot of racing hopefully. Any suggestions?

Looks really nice! I love the Fox bodies. My cousin had a 10s fox, but it had to have slicks. Pretty hot car!
