Red and White Mountain shakedown

Post by Rox Crusher »

Yesterday I went with a group of friends from my neighborhood who have 4 door Rubicons of one flavor or another.

We did Red and White Mountain out of Vail.

The wheeling itself was no big challenge but being in the mountains at the peak of the trees turning was awesome.

This was really the first opportunity I have had to do a shakedown run and the Bronco performed flawlessly. It cruised effortlessly at 70 mph and I could hammer it going up the passes and never had to back off.

The only concerns are the engine and trans temps as they were both higher than desired especially considering how cool the weather was.

I'm going to pull the motor this winter to fix a leaking rear main seal and will upgrade to the Explorer radiator set up Viper has been recommending.
