Not much to update. I finally ordered a new radiator and Explorer front dress. I'm just gathering parts to make the plunge. I still need a GT40 lower intake and 96-98 Explorer fuel rail. Then I should be ready to get EFI on it at least. The next warmish weekend we have I'll probably make a junkyard run to see if I can find a 4r70w and then figure out what I need for a flex plate.
Plumbdoctor came by the other day to give me a list of things to do before I give it to him to paint. Looks like there will be some serious sanding, grinding, and welding in the near future. I'd really like to have it ready for Moab in May but I don't know if funds are going to allow it since it's still going to need a roll cage, harnesses, rocker guards, etc... before it's ready to wheel. Probably have to wheel it with stock gears and small tires for now, but that doesn't bother me, I just want to get out there and do it since I've never been to Moab.

Justin, if either of those rails are from a 96-98 Explorer I'd definitely buy them off you. I must have 4 or 5 sets of rails here, just not the ones I want.![]()
I'm not sure which way I'll go with the sliders yet, but I'll figure it out before paint. 2x6 sounds cheap and do-able. But, I also kind of like these since they go up a little higher and look decent:

But if you are looking to do some moderate to challenging stuff, the extra clearance of a "rocker free" rig will come in very handy. My rockers were the first thing to get mangled on my rig.
I bought this on black Friday for $209. It looks identical to one that goes for $119 on Feebay.http://www.cjponyparts.com/radiator-alu ... /p/RADA75/Justin wrote:Which one did you go with?
